All big and tall buildings of today need to have natural sunlight entering the building. The bigger and taller a building the less are the chances of natural sunlight reaching the central areas.

Many such buildings such as Hospitals, Shopping Malls and Commercial Complexes are being constructed over all Metropolitan Cities in India. To cater to this need of natural sunlight reaching the central parts of such buildings the Architects are designing Buildings with large open to sky Atrium’s, though these open to sky Atriums allow natural sunlight to enter in central areas of these buildings These open spaces also bring in a lot of dust and rain water which is not desirable as this does not permit the use of the space below these openings and the same time the internal decor and finishes of the building’s are spoiled.

Recognizing this need of creating skylights which will be translucent ( which will allow diffused sunlight to enter ) ,leak proof, light weight , strong ( designed as per I.S.I specifications of roofing structure ) , durable ( long life) and aesthetically beautiful. Mr. Milind Ramkrishna Upasani of Industrial & Commercial Enterprises, Pune, Maharashtra, has designed , developed and successfully commercialized the manufacture and erection of fibre glass reilnfrced plastic MODULAR & SELF SUPPORTING( no need of supporting M.S structure ) skylights.
